Abstract: The morphological characteristics of cork cell were introduced. The research achievements of cell wall structure and main chemical components of cork from home and abroad were reviewed. Cork cell wall has clear layered structure. An important characteristic of cork cells wall is the existence of folds. The channel structures of plasmodesmata are found in the cork crossing adjacent cell walls. The main chemical compositions of cork cell walls are suberin, lignin, polysaccharides, extractives and ash. The contents, monomers extraction and identification are summarized. The research ideas of cork cell walls are given.
