Abstract: Chemical constituents in the roots of Ficus hirta Vahl.were studied. Eleven compounds were isolated and their structures were elucidated as psoralen (Ⅰ), umbelliferon(Ⅱ), 5,3',4'-trihydroxy-3,7-dimethoxyflavone(Ⅲ), norartocarpetin(Ⅳ), 5-hydroxy-3,7,4'-trimethoxyflavone(Ⅴ), kaempferol(Ⅵ), astragalin(Ⅶ), acacetin 7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅷ), luteolin 7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(Ⅸ), narigenin(Ⅹ) and daucosterol(Ⅺ), respectively. Compounds Ⅱ-Ⅹ were isolated from this plant for the first time, compounds Ⅲ, Ⅳ, Ⅴ, Ⅷ, Ⅸ were obtained from the genus Ficus for the first time.

Key words: root of Ficus hirta Vahl., chemical constituent, flavonoid, coumarin
