Abstract: State on quality of Chinese gum rosin from 1995 through 2002 was investigated in detail.Data were statistically analyzed and compared with the main technical specifications required in GB/T 8145-1987.Statistical average results showed that the present state on quality of Chinese gum rosin is superior to the specification required in GB/T 8145-1987 and is still ranking international top level,if only experimental values were considered.However,quality problems such as so called "mixed rosin" should be seriously paid attention to.According to the increasing tapping pine species and various uses of gum rosin,adoptation at different standards of gum rosins for individual pine species or individual uses would be the trend to meet the quality requirements in the future.
