Abstract: Chemical composition and physical chemical properties of Metasequia glyptostroboides gum were studied in this paper. M. glyptostroboides gum were cream colored,transparent and amorphous.Its softening point and unsaponifiable content were higher and saponification number were lower than those of Pinus massoniana rosin.The two samples contain similar kinds of rosin acids with certain difference in their contents.
