Abstract: Light distillates separated by molecular distillation from fat-soluble unsaponifiable matter of Ginkgo biloba leaves were prepared by extraction using petroleum ether, saponification and molecular distillation. The light distillates were analyzed by the Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry technique. The results were compared with the NIST02 standard MS database by computer. As a result,69 kinds of chemical compounds were identified and their relative content was determined by using the normalization method. The main compounds were attributed to the corresponding type of chemical structure of compounds. The results showed that the total relative content of monoterpene and sesquiterpene compounds was approximately 23%, the total relative content of chainlike alcohol (ketone, ester) and diterpanes compounds was approximately 47% and the total relative content of alkylphenol and steroids compounds was approximately 30%.
