Abstract: Waterborne polyurethane has some drawbacks, such as poor water-resistance, low heat-resistance, low drying rate, low initial adhesion, and low solid content. Much researches to overcome these drawbacks have been carried out. Significant progress has been made in recent years. In this paper, the improvement on water resistance, heat resistance, initial adhesion, solid content and drying speed of waterborne polyurethane are summarized.

Key words: waterborne polyurethane, water resistance, heat resistance, initial adhesion, drying rate
