STUDY ON SYNTHESIS OF SULFONIC ROSIN-BENZYL-ESTER POLYMER AND ITS ADSORPTION FOR METAL IONS

Abstract: Sulfonic rosin-benzyl-ester polymer(SRBEP) was synthesized from rosin-benzyl-ester polymer and sulphuric acid.The content of—SO3H in SRBEP was measured,and the structure of the product was analysed by IR.The (adsorption) characteristics for metal ions Co2+,Cu2+,Pb2+ and reusability of SRBEP were discussed.The results showed that:SRBEP could well adsorb Co2+,Cu2+ and Pb2+,especially Co2+,Pb2+.Relative retention of the resin could be kept over 80% after reusing for 6 times.It could be used for separating and purifying of metal ions.
