Abstract: A series of amino polyester baking varnishes modified by tung oil and rosin were made from polyhydroxyl esters, which were synthesized from methyl α-eleostearate maleic anhydride adduct and maleopimaric acid crosslinked by hexamethoxy methylmelamine. Effects of the ratio of components and the curing condition on their properties were discussed. By performance testing, it has been confirmed that these varnishes possessed good properties and could be used as amino coatings.

Key words: rosin, tung oil, amino polyester baking varnish, amino resin
