Abstract: The competitive reactions of anethole, styrene and cinnamaldehyde with ozone were studied by gas chromatograph, and the reactivity sequence of the three compounds is anethole>styrene>cinnamaldehyde. The ratios of the rate constants of cinnamaldehyde and anethole to styrene were calculated according to the film theory to be 0.055 and 25.6,respectively.The corresponding rate constants of the two former compounds are 720L·mol-1·s-1 and 3.33×105L·mol-1·s-1,respectively.

Key words: cinnamaldehyde, styrene, anethole, ozonization
