    CARBON 13-ENRICHMENT OF DEHYDROGENATION POLYMERS OF MONOLIGNOLS TRACED BY SOLID-STATE 13C NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE

    Guaiacyl type dehydrogenation polymers(DHPs)were prepared from coniferin and coniferin (α-13C)by peroxidase,glucose oxidase and β glucosidase.The DHPs were analyzed by high resolution solid state carbon 13 nuclear magnetic resonance (13C NMR) spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy.The result of IR indicated that the chemical structure of DHP was in well agreement with MWL prepared from ginkgo wood.It was proved that β-O-4,β-β,β-5 and coniferyl alcohol structures were the main substructures in DHPs although there were some minor substructures such as vanillin and α methylene units according to the determination of CP/MAS 13C NMR spectra.

    The preparation method and characteristics of urushiol SiSn polymer,which was formed by reacting urushiol with SiCl4 and SnCl4,have been studied.IR results show that Si-O and Sn-O bonds exist in urushiol group of the product.MS results show that z/e is 461,corresponding to the molecular fragments C21H30O2SiSn.The submicron and nanometer particles were observed from SEM.DMTA and thermal spectral prove that the thermal stability of the product is higher than that of Chinese lacquer.Temperature of 50% weight loss is about 55℃.Modulo E′is above 98.6MPa at 20~38℃.The product has excellent anti corrosive properties.It can be moulded by thermal pressing or film coated to form a kind of material with properties of anticorrosion and heat resistance.

    Gas hold up and reaction effect of autoclave have been determined with different types of stirrers,which shows that the catalytic hydrogenation of rosin is a reaction of external diffusion control on Raney nickel for the purpose of eliminating the influence of external diffusion by using solvent and two layer stirrer with variation of agitation speed,which leads Raney nickel to show similar activity as that of the noble metal Pd/C catalyst.Relation between concentration of reactants and products and reaction time has been traced on line in the course of reaction.Result shows that hydrogenations of abietic acid to abietenoic acid and abietanoic acid are parallel reactions under the reaction condition of 17℃,5.0MPa.

    Polymer stabilizers can improve the structure of sandy soil,and may be used in controlling the soil desertification.The effects of non woody lignosulfonate and its grafted polymers on stabilizing sandy soil were studied.It is suggested that the lignosulfonate itself is not an applicable stabilizer,but after grafted with acrylic monomers its efficiency on sandy soil stabilization is improved.The grafted polymers are sprayed on the surface of sandy soil,with application dosage of 10g/m2,the sandy soil can withstand wind erosion with speed of 76km/h.By polymers grafted with non ionic monomers,the sandy soil has higher resistance on water erosion.The polymer stabilizers applicable for improving sandy soil should have higher molecular weight,certain hydrophilicity and degradability,and be economical and environment friendly.

    Using valonia extract as substrate,14 strains were cultivated and selected.Effects of single strain cultivation and co cultivation of strains on biodegradation of valonia tannin were investigated.It was showed that both bioconversion rate of valonia tannin and yield of ellagic acid would be remarkably increased when co cultivation of strains 1# and 3# was employed.The former is the strain that has faster degradation rate of tannin with weaker tannin resistance;the later is the one that has stronger resistance to tannin with slower degradation rate.Co cultivation at 2℃ for 8 days results in 68% bioconversion rate of valonia tannin and 23% yield of ellagic acid,which provides an effective way to produce ellagic acid from valonia tannin.

    Oxygen-enriched gasification technology and equipment for straw gasifying were exploited.The effects of catalysts,such as CaO,NaOH,gas velocity and pressure difference of gasifier on the heat value of gas were studied at gasifying temperature 600~82℃.The hydrocarbon content of the gas produced by straw gasified with catalyst CaO is as high as 4.81%.The security and stability of the inner recycling cone fluidized bed gasifier during the process of straw gasification were tested.The results show that the gasifier and technology for straw gasification are safe and stable and the gas produced has higher heat value and contains less tars.

    A mesoporous molecular sieve Al-MCM-41 was synthesized directly by hydrothermal method.In this process,crystallization was controlled at 145℃ and 24~28h.Al-MCM-41 was disposed by different ways to prepare SO42--Al-MCM-41.SO42- Al-MCM-41was characterized by XRD,BET and FT IR measurements.The results show that the skeleton of mesoporous molecular sieves has not been destroyed and the crystallinity was improved.By FT IR,it was proved that SO42- has been incorporated within the skeleton.SO42--Al-MCM-41 was used as catalysts in the reaction of synthesizing terpinyl acetate.The results showed that SO42- Al-MCM-41 synthesized by using 0.25mol/L H2SO4 to infuse calcined Al-MCM-41 had the highest catalytic activity.

    Camphene reacted with Cp2Zr(H)Cl(Cp=η5-C5H5 )and CO to form acylzirconocene chloride derivative,which was trapped with water,aryl halides and arylsulfenyl chlorides to give aldehyde,ketones and thioesters respectively.Camphene reacted with Cp2Zr(H)Cl in THF to give organozirconium(Ⅳ)complex,which was trapped with benzoyl chloride in the presence of CuI to give ketone 8a.

    The competitive reactions of anethole,styrene and cinnamaldehyde with ozone were studied by gas chromatograph,and the reactivity sequence of the three compounds is anethole>styrene>cinnamaldehyde.The ratios of the rate constants of cinnamaldehyde and anethole to styrene were calculated according to the film theory to be 0.055 and 25.6,respectively.The corresponding rate constants of the two former compounds are 720L·mol-1·s-1 and 3.33×105L·mol-1·s-1,respectively.

    In recent years there has been a growing interest in using xylanase(E.C. 3.2.1.8)in the pulping process.A strain library containing about 220 microbial xylanase producers isolated from a pulp and paper making factory was established.A novel bacterial alkali tolerant xylanase producer WXULI 11 and three fungal xylanase producers XY04B,XY07C and XY12D were screened from this library.The production conditions of these three fungal producers were investigated and the results showed that under the optimal conditions,XY04B and XY12D could produce xylanase at the level of 136.74 and 257.29IU/mL in 48h,while XY07C with 168.94IU/mL xylanase in 60h;their enzyme productivity were 68370,128654 and 67576IU/(L·d),respectively.

    A Bacillus strain was isolated from waste pulp.The strain had high endo-β-glucanase producing ability proved by the Congo red dying method on the culture plates.Optimal growing conditions of the strain were 35~37℃,pH 9.0~10.0.Results in shaking flask culture showed that high cellulase activities(CMCase)could be detected in both neutral and alkali conditions from the fermentation broth,and the neutral and alkali cellulase activities were 69.4U/mL and 53.6U/mL,respectively.The optimal conditions for the enzymatic reaction were 50℃,and pH value neutral to alkali.Ca+2,Mn+2 were the activators and Pb+2,Hg+2 were the inhibitors of the enzyme.This cellulase preparation had a good application potential in the textile biofinishing and detergent industry.

    Hydration of α-pinene catalyzed by dealuminated ultrastable Y zeolite molecular sieve(DUSY)was studied.Effects of SiO2/Al2O3 ratio,solvent,reactants ratio and amount of catalyst on the hydration were investigated.Results show that with catalyst DUSY-5 of high SiO2/Al2O3 ratio and acetic acid as solvent at 70℃ for 7h,conversion of α-pinene is 95.04% at total selectivity of hydration 60.59% and α terpineol selectivity 35.51%.

    Contrast tests were performed on relations between activated carbon dosage and its decoloring power to pigments in citric acid and sodium citrate solutions by using powdered activated carbon currently used in citric acid factories and the special activated carbon manufactured by us.The results show that the decoloring power of the special activated carbon is higher than that of the powdered activated carbon.In addition,the pore size-volume distribution curves were determined.It proved that the valid pore volume of the special activated carbon is bigger than that of the currently used powdered activated carbon which is the primary factor of adsorbing organic macromolecular pigment leading to better decoloration effect of the special activated carbon.

    Alkyd resins were prepared from maleopimaric acid(MPA)which consists of maleic and rosin instead of phthalic anhydride.Effects of synthesis technology on the properties of coating film of the alkyd resin were discussed.The experimental results show that the reaction time can be shortened by non alcoholysis technology.The structure and molecular weight of the alkyd resins have been characterized by FTIR and GPC,and it was found that the molecular weight of alkyd resin from MPA are higher than that from phthalic anhydride.Film properties of alkyd resins have been compared.It was observed that films of alkyd resin from malepimaric acid are better in drying character,hardness and water resistance than those of the alkyd resin from phthalic anhydride.

    Antimicrobial effect of bamboo leaf extract on common contaminative microorganisms of food was determined.Antimicrobial activities were also assessed under treatments of different extract concentration,temperature and pH value by standard plate count method.The results show that bamboo leaf extract has good antimicrobial effect which is enhanced by heat treatment.

    Three aqueous solutions of quaternary ammonium salt were mixed with copper salt to prepare wood preservatives (FFJ-1, FFJ-2 and FFJ-3).Treatments of lumber with these preservatives were carried out by conventional vacuum pressure impregnation.Soil block evaluations of the preservatives against brown rot fungi[ Poria placenta (Fr.)Cooke]and white rot fungi[ Coriolus versicolor (L.ex Fr.)Quel]indicate good decay resistance by FFJ-1,FFJ-2 and FFJ-3 against white rot at low retention, 0.1% copper(weight/weight).However,higher retention is needed for brown rot protection,1% copper(weight/weight).Also soil block decay tests were performed with chlorothalonil(CTL)pentachlorophenol sodium(PCP Na)and tradimefon against white rot fungi.The effects of FFJ-1,FFJ-2 and FFJ-3 against white rot fungi are equivalent to those of CTL,but superior to those of PCP Na and tradimefon.

    Alkaloids from Swertia yunnanensis were isolated successfully by high speed countercurrent chromatography with the two phase solvent system CHCl 3:CH 3 OH:NaH 2 PO 4 (pH 4.8)3:2.5:1 to obtain 5 components,in which 3 components exhibited orange red color with bismuth potassium iodide reagent.Results were verified by TLC and five components were isolated pure.One was characterized as gentianine(30%)by spectroscopic analysis.

    Application of membrane separation in the preparation of xylo-oligosaccharides and ethanol fermentation are reviewed.Membrane separation can be used in desalting,concentration and purification of xylan extractives,in the separation of xylo oligosaccharides from xylan hydrolysates,and in the classification and purification of oligosaccharides.Continuous ethanol fermentation coupling with membrane separation,ultrafiltration membrane bioreactor for enzymatic hydrolysis and enzyme recovery,and concentration of plant xylose solution through nanofiltration are a few examples of processing renewable plant resources.The applications of membrane separation techniques can help to solve the pollution problem and to reduce operation costs.
