Abstract: By using TiO2 and Ag TiO2 as catalyst, 253.7 nm UV as irradiation source, methylene blue as model compound, photocatalytic regeneration of wood based activated carbons were investigated in photocatalyst suspension and loaded system.Main variables affecting regeneration efficiency were investigated, including activity of the photocatalyst, regeneration time, temperature, particle size of activated carbon, pH value and regeneration cycles.Result showed that under favorable condition, photocatalytic regeneration of wood based activated carbon could be achieved. For 60-80 mesh carbon, the regeneration efficiency upto 81% can be obtained by regeneration at 50℃ for 72 h.

Key words: wood-based activated carbon, Ag-TiO2, methylene blue, photocatalytic regeneration
