Abstract: A bismaleimide (ABMI) of cheap price was made from maleic anhydride and an aliphatic diamine. A bismaleimide-phenolic resin modified by tung oil with high thermal stability was prepared from tung oil, ABMI, and a phenolic resin(PR). Effects of amounts of each component and the curing conditions were investigated. The optimum condition is: weight ratio of tung oil,ABMI and PR 1:0.3:0.2, curing temperature 180℃ and curing time 3 h.

Key words: tung oil, bismaleimide, phenolic resin, thermal stability
