Abstract: To investigate the protective effects of masson's pine bark extract (MPBE) on incomplete cerebral ischemia of mice and brain tumor of nude mice, the model of acute incomplete cerebral ischemia in mice was established by ligating bilateral carotid arteries, and the model of intrabrain transplanted tumor in nude mice was established by implanting human brain tumor (SF763). The survival time was observed in these two models, respectively. Results showed: the survival time of mice by bilateral carotid arteries ligation was obviously prolonged with the dose of MPBE. The rate of life prolongation of nude mice by human brain tumor implantion was obviously increased with the dose of MPBE combining with ADM. MPBE may be useful for prevention of cerebral ischemia and brain tumor.
