Abstract: Biomass gasification technolgy was studied in an up draft gasifier under oxygen enriched air. The effects of catalysts, such as Na2CO3,CaO,on gas heat value and tar cracking were investigated. From the experimental data the optimal technology parameters are follows:gasifying temperature 700-800℃,feeding rate 140-160 kg/h and gas output 200-220 Nm3/h.The use of catalysts and oxygen enriched air in the experiment can increase gas heat value and reduce tar in the gas remarkably. The biomass gasification technology with oxygen enriched air is feasible and economical. The maximum heat value of gas produced by sawdust is as high as 9.93 MJ/Nm3.
