Abstract: The effect of high dose irradiation on polysaccharides of rice straw was studied. The feasibility of the achievement of high-concentration sugar by the way of improving substrate concentration through fed-batch enzymatic hydrolysis process of irradiated rice straw, was then investigated. The result showed that the polysaccharides content of irradiated rice straw decreased and the water-soluble sugar increased from 0.7% to 13.4%. By the way of fed-batch enzymatic hydrolysis, the solid loading could reach 40% (mass fraction) in the enzymatic hydrolysis system. And 104.6 g/L glucose concentration as well as 77.1% cellulose conversion were obtained by this process under the condition of 32.8 FUP/g (calculated by cellulose) cellulase loading.
